Boeing 737CL / 737NG Technical Conference held in Cairo

21-22 October 2009, Cairo, Egypt

Boeing was pleased to invite all 737 Classic (-100 through -500) and 737NG (-600 through-900ER) Operators, MROs, Leasing Companies and Regulatory Authorities to the regional737 CL/NG Technical Review Meeting that was held at InterContinental City Stars Hotel as well as Boeing Field Service Bases and Regional Directors were dedicated to attend this meeting.

EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE and ENGINEERING Company co-hosted this important event.

Meanwhile, Eng. Abdel Aziz Fadel, EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING Chairman & CEO, delivered opening remarks during the first day of the 737CL / 737NG Technical Review meeting.

He also delivered a speech about EGYPTAIR experience with the 737 model, both 737 CL & 737 NG, future plans for usage of the 737NG for EGYPTAIR growth and expansion as well as EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING capability for MRO work and what EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING can offer to other airlines in terms of maintenance.

During the meeting a lot of important subjects were discussed such as Fleet Metrics and Regulatory Issues, Next Generation Fleet Team Forum, Fleet Reliability Solutions Tool and a lot of Fleet Systems Issues.

So Boeing decided to host seven regional 737 CL/NG Technical Review Meetings (TRM) in 2009 around the world, so they chose the following locations:

  1.  Moscow, Russia on 13-14 of May, 2009 .
  2.  Tokyo, Japan on May 18-19, 2009
  3.  Bratislava, Slovakia on 3-4 of June, 2009
  4.  Gatwick, UK on 8-9 of June, 2009
  5.  Cairo, Egypt on 21-22 of October, 2009
  6.  Chengdu, China in 22-23 October,2009
  7.  Xiamen, China in 26-27 October

These meetings are covering key technical issues and regulatory concerns affecting the Classic and NG fleets.

They also provide an excellent opportunity to bring up additional issues and discuss specific experiences with any of the fleet issues and/or regulatory concerns.

In additional to Boeing presenters, Field Service Representatives from the African Region and its Regional Director, a number of representatives from various Egyptian, African, Arab region airlines and representatives from the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority and professional Engineers from EGME various departments (Engineering Directorate / Marketing Directorate ) participated in the meeting.
